What is GIS?

GIS Stands for Geographic Information Systems and it is a software that allows a user to create, manage, analyze, and visualize all types of data. It is essentially glorified data mapping, making large amounts of information understandable in an aesthetic and artist way. Please feel free to explore my work below !

About Ely

Academics and GIS History

I studied at UC Irvine from 2017 - 2022 in order to get a BA in Environmental Policy, a BS in Earth System Science, and a Minor in Statistics. I spent a fifth year completing specializations in Oceanography, Atmospheric Science, and Hydrology/Terrestrial Ecosystems. Through my studies I took GIS courses, which immediately peaked my interest and lead me to pursue both a graduate certificate and Masters Degree in GIS at UCLA.

Hobbies

Besides the academics, I consider myself an adventurer and like to be active as much as possible. I spent my whole life as a competitive gymnast, but now spend my free time skydiving, traveling, doing acro-yoga, and practicing photography.
