Cost Path Analysis Through Darien Gap
The map to the left in itself may not seem special, but the process to create it is extremely unique. A cost path analysis is one in which the slopes were calculated from a digital elevation model, and reclassified to find which areas have the least resistance. Then the distance accumulation tool and optimal path tools were used with two points (an origin and a destination) in order to find the path of least resistance.
